Progressive Program

Ideal for building strong foundational skills. This program includes four hours of content, generally delivered as four, one-hour sessions that cover:

  • Introduction to fundamental riding skills.
  • Skill development through fun activities and games, on and off the bike.
  • Confidence building through skill practice and challenges.
  • Road safety knowledge through a game-sense approach.

The timing for this program is flexible around your schools’ needs.

Immersion Program

Ideal for introducing bike riding to a larger group of up to 30 students. This faster-paced, fun program can be run as multiple sessions throughout the day to maximise student involvement. The Immersion Program includes:

  • Skill acquisition through engaging games and activities (both on and off the bike).
  • Confidence building through skill practice and challenges.
  • Introduction to road safety knowledge through a game-sense approach.

We generally split our immersion programs over two days, with day one run early in the term and day two later.  This program is suitable for Years 3 to 6.

Teacher Lead Program

Ideal for schools that want to run a bike education program at any time and upskill their own teachers. The Teacher Led Program includes:

  • The AusBike Skills Instructor Training accreditation
  • Complementary AusCycling membership for teachers
  • Access to AusBike Lesson Plans once they’ve completed their accreditation.

Once accredited, teachers can run AusBike programs whenever suits your school.

We’ve got you covered!

  • Sessions can be held at a time that suits your school’s schedule, including before, during and after school.
  • We encourage students to bring their own bikes and helmets.
  • If equipment is a barrier, get in touch with us to find out about borrowing items.

The Term 1 funding period for Sporting Schools opens at 8am AEDT on Monday, October 21, 2024, and closes at 5pm AEDT on Friday, November 8, 2024.
