SPORTING SCHOOLS

Sporting Schools is an initiative from the Australian Government designed to help schools increase children’s participation in sport.  Thanks to this program, every Primary School across Australia can now deliver a national bike education experience to their students. 

Application open dates:

Term 3 2026
  • Applications open: 8am AEST, Monday 18 May 2026
  • Applications close: 5pm AEST Friday 5 June 2026

Through Sporting Schools AusBike offers two engaging programs delivered by AusCycling-accredited instructors, right at your school. Whether you’re looking for an in-depth program or a quick introduction to bike education, there’s an AusBike option for your school.

How to apply for Sporting Schools funding 

  1. Visit Sporting Schools to apply for funding. 
  1. If successful, login to the Sporting Schools Portal and view packages 
  1. Book one of our packages, delivered by AusCycling:
    • Sessions can be held at a time that suits your school’s schedule, including before, during and after school. 
    • We encourage students to bring their own bikes and helmets.
    • If equipment is a barrier, get in touch with us to find out about hiring items. 
  1. Someone from the AusCycling team will in touch to design a program for your school.
