The AusBike Skills Instructor course gives you the skills to teach beginner-level riders (aged 5 to 12) the essential skills for a lifetime of bike riding fun.
The course is ideal for club members, community members, parents and teachers who want to make a difference.

Who can become an AusBike Instructor?
This course is open to anyone who meets the following pre-requisites:
- Aged 16 years or older.
- Holds a current, valid Working with Children Check.
- Holds a current valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or higher).
Before starting the course, you’ll also need:
- A current, valid AusCycling Membership. As a teacher working within a school, you can qualify for a Non-Riding Membership.
- A free PlayBuilder account to access lesson plans, games, and rubric assessments.
What does the course involve?
The AusBike Instructor course is a flexible program that consists of two stages:
- Theory-based Online Modules: Learn about managing group and individual behaviours, risk management, CORE4Skills™ development, and basic bike and helmet setup – all at your own pace.
- A Video Assessment: Demonstrate your ability to teach the CORE4Skills™ through a video submission reviewed by AusCycling.
