AusBike recognised on global stage for bike education

AusCycling’s pioneering AusBike Digital program has been recognised with a Platinum Award at the 2025 LearnX Awards, receiving honours in the Micro-Learning category.

Developed in partnership with Playbk Sports, AusBike Digital redefines how foundational bike education is delivered across Australia.

The program equips teachers with classroom ready digital lessons, curriculum alignment and engaging video-based instruction — overcoming barriers linked to declining cycling participation, limited specialist training and uneven access to on-bike programs.

Built with a 80+ point technology compliance checklist, AusBike Digital ensures rigorous alignment to school-sector requirements across accessibility, safety, group enrolments and teaching resources.

Students progress through structured learning across Bike Basics, Bike Safety, Bike Skills and Social Awareness each delivered through short-form lessons, mastery quizzes and teacher support materials.

AusBike Digital has delivered significant national impact:

  • 29,000+ students reached
  • 22 micro courses
  • 10+ minutes average engagement per session
  • 70% teacher return rate
  • 99.999% platform uptime at peak school usage

AusCycling CEO, Marne Fechner, said:

“It’s fantastic to see AusBike Digital recognised on a global stage.

"The program is modernising how thousands of young Australians engage with safe cycling, and we’re proud of the collaboration that made it possible.”

Playbk Sports COO, Damian Hecker,
