AusBike launches in the ACT with first free trial sessions

AusBike has officially rolled into the ACT, with families getting their first taste of Australia’s national learn to ride program at free trial sessions over the weekend.

Thirty spaces were offered across two sessions in Canberra, with both filling quickly and additional families registering their interest.

Despite a storm the night before and strong winds on the morning of the event, 20 keen riders turned up to give AusBike a go.

The trials marked the first time AusBike has been delivered in the ACT, giving families a chance to experience the award-winning program that has already introduced more than 50,000 children to bike riding since launching two years ago.

AusBike’s purpose is simple: to help kids aged five to 12 learn to ride safely and confidently.

Backed by accredited instructors and developed with best practice, the program gives families peace of mind and children the skills they need for a lifetime of riding.

Following the strong response, AusCycling will explore opportunities to establish a permanent AusBike Centre in the ACT.

Upcoming free trial sessions are scheduled in Queensland and New South Wales this month, with more opportunities for families to get involved.
